New Conversational Cloud documentation

Just AI team is excited to announce the new user documentation for Conversational Cloud.

This portal unifies in itself the docs for JAICP, Aimylogic, Aimyvoice, and Aimychat, which previously used to exist as separate entities. It also provides new features in order for you to obtain the necessary information more efficiently than ever before:

  • Faster browsing experience.
  • Advanced search and filtering capabilities.
  • Switching between light and dark themes.

Reasons for moving

Conversational Cloud is a cloud environment for prototyping, developing, deploying, and supporting Conversational AI solutions. Currently it is comprised of quite a few products:

Learn more about how Conversational Cloud evolved

Compared to the beginnings of the Just AI product stack, Conversational Cloud is a much more recent concept. For a long time, our company’s development strategy was focused exclusively on its two flagship products: JAICP and Aimylogic. Both products are centered around developing conversational solutions, but occupy their own specific niches in having different entry levels and intended audiences.

Near the end of 2018, we launched the public documentation for JAICP, the most complex of our products (which it remains to this day). We made it accessible at help.just-ai.com — this domain name is a remnant from those times when we believed that no other such resources would ever be required. However, it didn’t take too long for Aimylogic to cross its own threshold when it could no longer do without a public knowledge base, so next year it acquired a separate documentation website with its own unique interface.

Meanwhile, the company’s priorities continued to evolve as well, and 2021 saw the launch of a new product called Aimyvoice — a platform for synthesizing live voices. By the middle of 2022, Conversational Cloud itself was implemented, and the three products were unified under Single Sign-On (SSO): if you had an account in one of them, you could now seamlessly switch to any other. After yet another while, our customer engagement platform, Aimychat, was launched and incorporated into this environment.

Whenever we launched each of these products, it was accompanied by its own documentation instance. However, at some point it became clear that this approach did not scale well, neither for us as authors nor for its readers. The knowledge of our products remained scattered, as its presentation didn’t encourage a systematic approach to building it. While at the same time, the products themselves became more tightly integrated into each other.

  • For instance, at some point JAICP bots for calls could use Aimyvoice as their TTS provider, while Aimylogic allowed to switch to the J‑Graph visual editor for developing the script. Our readers had to hop between the docs for different products to learn more about these features.
  • JAICP and Aimylogic have a broad feature set in common: HTTP APIs such as the Chat and Calls API, knowledge base, project analytics. For us, documenting them meant that the relevant docs had to be duplicated in part or completely, which made subsequent support more difficult.

What changed

We have unified the documentation for all Conversational Cloud products into this website. Now you can easily find all relevant information and learn about the updates across the whole product stack.

This documentation is also powered by a different, more modern engine (a program that helps us transform text files into a full-fledged website). In turn, this has allowed us to improve the user experience in several ways:

  • Speed — page transitions and the search widget have become more robust and responsive.
  • Interface — you can now filter articles by tags, or add frequently used search results to your favorites.
  • Dark theme — tailor-made for those who prefer to work at night.
note
The previous docs will remain available as they were. However, they will not receive any further updates.

In a long time, this is our first attempt at rethinking our approach to documentation, and there is still much room for improvement. We intend to continue supporting this project and carry on organizing and systematizing our product body of knowledge.

If you would like to share with us your ideas or suggestions about how to improve this website, you can always contact us in our JAICP and Aimylogic communities, as well as through customer support.
